Supermercat

Any ordinary little supermercat in Barcelona is much more colorful than any here up north. I bought a little bottle of water for 22 cents. It looked like it was going to be a nice sunny day.

  • Less limited choice. That's either bad (makes it more difficult for the customer to choose and thus making him/her less likely to be satisfied with the made choice) or good (more to offer, from the seller's point of view, to a broader range of customers).

  • Olen aina vierastanut eurooppalaisten pikkukauppojen riemunkirjavia hyllyjä, ja sitä että paketeissa on niin paljon mainoksia ettei itse tuotetta erota. Miten ne itsekään löytävät suosikkituotteensa sellaisesta sekamelskasta. Toivottavasti täällä ei ikinä - kiihtyvää vauhtia lisääntyvistä ulkomaanvalikoimista huolimatta - tule olemaan sentään tuon näköistä.

    Toisaalta, ulkomaalainen saattaa pitää suomalaista kaupanhyllyä mielenkiinnottomana ja jopa rumana, mutta minun makuun se on: hillitty ennen kaikkea!
